Cassie Sistoso is a writer, scholar, and creative from the Southern United States. She is a recent graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and The University of the South — Sewanee, earning an MA in Sociology, an MFA in Poetry Creative Writing, and two graduate certificates in Women’s and Gender Studies and Applied Social Research.
She is the recipient of several merit and creative based scholarships, including the Sarah Barnwell Elliott Scholarship in Fiction (2024-2026), and the Nancy Ellen Rupprecht Scholarship for Feminist Scholars (2024). Her poem “Idlewild” was selected publication for Free The Verse’s “Marginalia” series in 2026, and her research on maternal mortality data collection was published by Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare in 2025. She lives in Eugene, Oregon, with her partner and three cats.
